GAC Inaugurates New Branch in Oman in the Presence of GCC Secretary-General and Omani Minister of Commerce

As part of a strategic move to strengthen the quality and accreditation infrastructure across the GCC, the GCC Accreditation Center (GAC) inaugurated its new branch in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The inauguration was held under the patronage and presence of H.E. Mr. Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, along with a number of senior officials and representatives from quality and accreditation bodies.

The Director General of GAC emphasized the importance of collaboration and integration among GCC countries, highlighting its vital role in enhancing quality standards and facilitating intra-regional and global trade. He noted that the opening of the new branch in Muscat marks a significant step toward realizing the Center’s vision of supporting the quality infrastructure and strengthening market trust in Gulf products and services.

H.E. Mr. Jassim Mohamed Al-Budaiwi praised the opening of the new branch, stating that it represents a new milestone in enhancing the quality infrastructure across GCC member states and supporting international recognition of Gulf competencies. He also noted that this achievement reflects the Sultanate’s strong commitment to advancing joint Gulf initiatives, in line with the wise leadership’s directives and the ambitious regional vision to unify efforts and develop the accreditation system.

The launch of the Oman branch underscores GAC’s ongoing commitment to expanding its services and advancing quality infrastructure across key sectors including industry, healthcare, education, and commerce, thereby promoting GCC integration and reinforcing the region’s global standing.
